The Movie The Happy Hooker and Your Favorite LDW Mistresses
This evening and early morning, I did something that I don’t normally do which is taking some time simply refreshing myself. I love to refresh by reading and viewing materials that pertain to work, but lift my spirits as well. Tonight I had the distinct pleasure of watching the movie The Happy Hooker. The movie was sent to me by a sweet Llama Angel. I asked for the movie after it had been recommended by a family member.
I must say this was one of the best things that I have ever watched. From the standpoint of taking a light hearted fun approach to Sex Industries, which is what all of us from strippers to Phone Mistresses are a part of. I found this to be an amazing movie. I had sympathy, love, and care for Xaviera and all her ladies. I hear sometimes worry about our emotional happiness or lack of it. Perhaps that in some ways we are not fulfilled, and this might be why we do this sort of job. I have to say that most women I know in sex industries, this couldn’t be further from the truth. I loved The Happy Hooker for this reason. What a beautiful film with so much joy and passion to simply uplift you.
I loved the portrayal of classiness, the desire to experience pleasure, and the sweet way many of the women went about their business. I loved the way that all the women were portrayed as strong and capable; especially the leading lady Xaviera Hollander. I got to watch all three movies. Xaviera came to America looking to start her life with her fiancee. It had started when they were in Africa away from his family. Xaviera completely in love leaves her native country; only to find the man she had fallen in love with was not the same man in the states. Soon she becomes a traveling companion, and eventually meets a man who charms her, and in the end leaves her with an envelope of money. Not only does he leave her with this, but he leaves her more importantly with a stream of clients looking for a beautiful, educated companion. She is the class of lady you get on your phone here at LDW.
Ladies versed in so many things, able to socially adapt, and make a personal connection in something usually reserved as totally non personal; business.
My favorite scene from the first movie in the series which is titled The Happy Hooker involves Xaviera stripping for a decidedly boorish stock broker with no manners. In this scene she asserts her power well. He tries to dismiss her after asking her to strip her clothes off to music. He tells her he will drop money on her of a denomination he sees fit as she removes her clothing. She dances for him about 5 minutes and he seems VERY bored. he then tries to shoo her off the table telling her it was enough. At this time she says to him
“What do you think I am? Some organ grinders Monkey?”
She then proceeds to make him play music a girl can move to, and recites all the market stocks for the day, while putting all her clothing back on. I find this completely wonderful, I love women who assert their power, just like all the wonderful ladies here at LDW. SIN is a very empowering place for women to be if they are intelligent. This is a place where we can assert our full power, and truly live our fantasies too.
I lvoed Xaviera’s strength, and how she went to work for a house, and ended up the proprietor of the house. She courageously struck out on her own, challenged herself, and used her creative feminine power to be the VERY best at what she did.
I am not implying that SIN is all love light and carefree happy go lucky women, I am trying to show the power that it gives women. I want everyone to see that power, and epsecially women in SIN themselves. All they have to do is take it. Often people want to know what in your childhood caused you to do this, or they think there must be nothing else you could be doing. Maybe it was your last resort. Also I am often asked how anyone could love a woman working in SIN of any sort and be okay with it. That brings me to the next movie in the trilogy The Happy Hooker Goes To Washington.
In the second movie, the beautiful, witty and strong Madame Xaviera is brought to Washington DC to testify as to why America’s moral fiber is falling apart, and also to be charged as a cause of that. Her job as a Madame also involves her giving out advice in an advice column. She writes many letters. I am going to go off into one little letterĀ I thought was incredibly entertaining. A young man wrote to her saying that he only balled women, but he truly enjoyed going down on both men and women. He asked if this meant he were bisexual, Xaviera tells him wittily enough, no he is only bilingual.
In the movie Xaviera has a lawyer representing her. He falls for her, and loves her. To some degree every man who has shared time with her, loves her. I loved the concept of this, it’s truly what the greek word Eros is referring too. There is a connection, a companionship, and there is the togetherness of two people. In the moments that they spend together, their hearts have been pierced by cupids arrow. Chemistry and compatability are there. No need for jealousy or thinking that someone is their one and only. The lawyer falling for her often sees her, and he sees the real woman before him, not some made up fantasy. He loves her truly whether she is a hooker, a Madame, or a consultant for a company. There are men who do love those of us in SIN, they realize that our ability to provide Eros for many is deep within us. It’s a part of our lusts, our needs. The men that love us know that they receive the Eros part of us, but also the parts of us that aren’t Eros. We’re human and have our good days and our bad days.
I want to jump back to the first movie here as another part of it really made an impression upon me. Xaviera’s first job is as a translator. While at her job she meets this prince of a man who has referred her to others. He is a corporate consultant that is paid to help make workers happier. they are having lunch and Xaviera tells him he is in the business of making people happy, and that’s the best kind of business to be in. I’d have to say that all of the ladies here at LDW agree with that statement. We are in the business of making people happy, and that’s what drives us. Happy people who leave us with a smile on their face. It is within our nature to make people happy for us, so this is the perfect job. We also get to let our creatively naughty minds run amok, just as Ms. Hollander did.
The third movie The Happy Hooker Goes To Hollywood addressed some of the other issues with SIN. Specifically addressed was mainstream view of sex industry professionals as whores, as people to be looked down upon. the issue was expressed in a light manner, but it addressed when people see SIN women as usable or disposable commodities, as in the case of Xaviera’s movie being made. I was pleased to see many of the issues with SIN addressed in all these movies.
I loved many of the fantasies expressed in the movie as well. I could honestly look at every scenario I saw on the TV screen, and say to myself I have had that call. It was deliciously beautiful to be able to watch these movies. They truly liffted my spirits, and they will lift yours too if you should choose to watch them. I highly reccommend that everyone watch these movies for the sheer enjoyment of simply laughing. I think many of you will watch these movies and say to yourselves “Gee I’m not alone!”
Oh and not going to give it away boys, but int he second movie there’s mention of the word cock suckers and it’s very hilarious. So if you haven’t already watched these movies! Interesting, I’d always assumed that series was goofy soft porn, the kind of stuff I might
watch for laughs and camp value on cable but not spend money on. I think you just gave
me an incentive to pay my late fees at my local video store and check it out.
